Working in confined space is dangerous which may have hazards of toxic gases, lack of oxygen, explosion and also even drowning. If entering confined space cannot be avoided, competent person, certified worker and standby person should be diligent in their duties, prepare risk assessment and implement all required safety measures. Moreover, management personnel of confined space operation, such as project manager, site agent, foreman, gang leader, etc., should be responsible to ensure safe system of work and required safety measures are properly implemented to prevent accidents.
The course aims to enable management personnel of confined space operation to understand the legal requirement of confined space, good practice, responsibilities of shareholders, safe system of work, emergency preparedness, etc., and how to implement effective monitoring, communication and inspection arrangement, in order to ensure the safety measures are properly implemented. Site managers, such as property management personnel can also take this course which can help to understand the safety requirement of confined space operation so as to assist in monitoring the implementation of relevant safety measures by contractors of confined space operation.
