SHE Supervisor(Construction)〈SHES〉

The Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Safety Officers and Safety Supervisors) Regulations requires the employer of a contractor in a construction site to employ a safety supervisor if the number of directly employed staff in the main contractor or the sub-contractor is 20 or more. The safety supervisor is to assist the employer in implementing safety and health programmes in the construction site. If the workplace hygiene and environment is not good, the health and safety of the employees in the construction site will be affected, such as deafness due to the excessive noise, problems at the respiratory system due to inhale of excessive hazardous dusts. The public will also be affected by the noise and dusts produced at the construction sites. Therefore, site hygiene and environmental pollution relate to each other. Moreover, the public's demand on the site hygiene and environmental protection for the construction industry increases nowadays. Therefore, the Occupational Safety and Health Council (OSHC) develops the Safety, Health and Environmental Supervisor (Construction) Course (SHES). It can help improving the knowledge of the safety supervisor on site hygiene and environment so that the construction industries can be able to deal with the relevant issues.
