A wide range of chemicals is used in laboratories. The composition of many of these chemicals is difficult to identify. Users should always obtain up-to-date information from Material Safety Data Sheets and from the manufacturer of each chemical.
This course, jointly organised with the government laboratory, gives participants a complete overview of laboratory safety and the management techniques necessary to prepare laboratory safety plans.
The course is suitable for laboratory safety officers, technical staff working in educational, industrial, medical or research laboratories, and other safety professionals.

Duration (Hour): 33 hours
Instructor: Professional or OSHC consultant
Language: Cantonese supplemented with English notes
Prerequisites: 1. Completion of secondary education (F.5 under HKCEE or F.6 under HKDSE) or above or equivalent plus a pass in science subjects or equivalent (applicants should provide copies of certification) or holders of “General Safety for Laboratory Work” course
2. Ability to read and write in English
Remark: ● Award of Certificate: 85% attendance and pass in end-of-course examination.
● Students who do not have sufficient attendance is not allowed to attend the examination.
● Students who are absent from the class, late or leave earlier for more than 30 minutes in class will be regarded as absent for that session.
