(STSMS)Safety Training Course for Site Management Staff
Management staffs in construction work are responsible in design, construct, manage and supervision, etc. Management staffs are required to undertake occupational safety and health trainings, and apply the skills in operations. For example, consider OSH in design stage, select safer working methods and control the OSH performance of the subcontractors, etc. This course is intended to strengthen the participants’ skills in legislative requirements, safety management system, safe system of works, etc., and apply the acquired skills in the construction site management.

● Award of Certificate : 100% attendance and pass the end-of course examination. ● Students who do not have sufficient attendance are not allowed to attend the examination. ● Students who are absent from the class, late or leave earlier for more than 30 minutes in class will be regarded as absent for that session. Eligibility for applying course exemptions: (I) Applying for course exemption from the study of Modules 1, 2 and 3 (Select one among Item 1-3): 1. Being a registered Safety Officer/ registered Safety Auditor; 2. Completion of : 2.1 The course ‘Basic Accident Prevention (12 hours)’ organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Council or the Construction Industry Council and completion one of the course of Item 2.2 to 2.4; 2.2 The course ‘Occupational Safety Management(12 hours)’ organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Council or the Construction Industry Council; or 2.3 The course ‘Occupational Safety Management for Project Managers (12 hours)’ organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Council; or 2.4 The course ‘Basic Safety Management (12 hours)’ organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Council 3. Completion of : 3.1 The course ‘Certificate in Safety and Health for Supervisors (Construction) (43 hours)’ organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Council; or 3.2 The course ‘Construction Safety Supervisor Course (43 hours) organized by the Construction Industry Council (II) Applying for course exemption from the study of Modules 1 and 3: 4. The course ‘Construction Safety Supervisor Course (42 hours) organized by the Construction Industry Council (III) Applying for course exemption from the study of Modules 4: 5. Completion of the below course organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Council 5.1 The course ‘Contruction Industry Safety Climate Index Survey Workshop (6 hours)’ 5.2 The course ‘Work Safe Behaviour Workshop (12 hours)’ 5.3 The course ‘Train-the-trainer for Work Safe Behavior and Safety Climate Index Survey (12 hours)’ (IV) Applying for course exemption from the study of Modules 5: 6.
