According to the statistics, the total number of registered volunteers to participate in the “Volunteer Movement” has been over
80 million, and the participating agencies and organizations have been more than 1,700. However, volunteer services are diverse
and with potential safety and health risks. As voluntary organizations / groups, provision of occupational safety and health training
is essential, in order to equip volunteers with safety awareness and knowledge in accident prevention during volunteer services.
This workshop includes exercises, case study and discussion. It suits those who aspire to become an OSH trainer of voluntary
services and assists voluntary agencies / organizations in providing occupational safety and health training to volunteers.

• Concepts of occupational safety and health • Introduction of relevant safety and health legislation • General volunteer services • Recognition of potential hazards in volunteer services (e.g., violence at work, travel accident, crowd-control issues, adverse weather, fire hazards, electrical hazards, hazards at out-door work, hazards associated with manual handling, etc.) • Control measures for work-related hazards • Selection and use of personal Protective equipment • First aid principles and handling of emergencies • Training methods and skills |

● Award of Certificate: 100% attendance and pass in end-of-course examination. ● Students who do not have sufficient attendance is not allowed to attend the examination. ● Students who are absent from the class, late or leave earlier for more than 30 minutes in class will be regarded as absent for that session. |
