Existing lifts in Hong Kong have been installed in different decades. Although existing lifts were installed to the level of technology appropriate at the time, rapid technology advancement in recent years means that some existing lifts are not exactly reached the current safety standards and legal requirements. There is room for improvement to make existing lifts more safe, reliable and comfortable by implementing enhancement and modernization solutions. As the needs of retrofitting lifts in some estates, implementing enhancement and modernization solutions will have the specific difficulties and hazards. In order to ensure the workers safety and health at work, they must recognize the hazards in their working environments and implement effective safety measures.
The course aims at introducing the hazards and safe practices in the implement enhancement and modernization solutions of lifts and escalators and how to put this knowledge into practice. This course is suitable for supervisors and any personnel who are involved in the implement enhancement and modernization solutions of lifts and escalators.
