The Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance and Regulation state that the responsible person of a workplace has the responsibility to ensure fire safety. The changing progress stages, various trades and huge accumulation of materials are characteristics of the construction industry. Therefore, it is vital that all construction employees should understand how to arrange temporary electricity supply, carry out welding and flame cutting tasks, store flammable substances safely so as to ensure fire safety. The course provides knowledge about basic fire safety, causes of fire on construction sites, fire precautions and the use of portable fire extinguishers.

1. Common causes of fire on construction sites (eg, welding, electrical installations and equipment, flammable substances)
2. Classifications of fire and fire extinguishers
3. Site management
4. Means of escape and evacuation
5. Fire prevention and emergency responseresponse

8. Practical session on using fire extinguishers and fire hose reel
Duration (Hour): 8 hours
Instructor: Professional or OSHC consultant
Language: Cantonese supplemented with Chinese notes
Prerequisites: Ability to read and write Chinese
Remark: ◎Award of Certificate: 100% attendance and pass practical assessment and the end-of-course examination.
◎Students who do not have sufficient attendance are not allowed to attend the examination
◎Students who are absent from the class, late or leave earlier for more than 30 minutes in a class will be regarded as absent for that session.
