(Note: Please note that this course is not the “Safety Training Revalidation Course for Certified Workers of Confined Spaces Operation”. Certified workers should take the revalidation course to maintain the validity of certified workers.)


Working in confined spaces is a high-risk activity. The most common causes of accident in confined spaces are failure to identify the potential hazards in confined spaces, neglect of relevant safety measures, neglect of the use of personal protective equipment, and/or deficient emergency response. Personnel who entering a confined space must have completed the “Safety Training Course for Certified Workers of Confined Spaces Operation", and attend revalidation course every three years.

To enhance the safety awareness, certified workers should understand hazards of confined space, and also get familiar with the required safety measures, safety equipment (such as portable personal gas detector and personal alarm) and personal protective equipment (such as approved breathing apparatus). Workers should evaluate the on-site environment before starting to work, read and understand the information on work permit, and familiarize with the application of safety measures. They should also pay attention to changes of environment in confined spaces during work, and maintain communication with standby person, and take contingency measures if needed, which can help to prevent accident. This course helps certified workers to refresh on key points of confined space safety, relevant safety measures and the use of personal protective equipment (include practical session).

Language: Cantonese supplemented with Chinese notes
Prerequisites: 1. Hold a valid confined space certified worker certificate and
2. Ability to read and write Chinese
Remark: ● Certificate is awarded when the student has attained 100% class attendance and a pass in end-of-course examination.
● Student is not allowed to attend the examination if the attendance rate is less than the required.
● Students who are absent from the class, late or leave earlier for more than 30 minutes in class will be regarded as absent for that session.
