Summer days are hot and humid in Hong Kong. Workers engaging work in hot weather or hot work for long hours, especially those who have to perform manual work no matter indoors or outdoors are at risk of having heat stroke or even death if appropriate preventive measures are not taken. Therefore, employers and employees should take appropriate measures for prevention of heat stroke at work in a hot environment. Employers should also arrange assessment for the risk of heat stress at workplace and, based on the assessment results, take out effective measures to prevent heat stroke.
The purpose of the this course is to provide training to the participants on heat stress assessment techniques and operation of heat stress monitor, so as to equip them with the knowledge on occupational hazards of working in a hot environment and the relevant control measures to minimize the risk of heat stroke.

Duration (Hour): 7 hours
Instructor: Professional or OSHC’s Consultant
Language: Cantonese supplemented with Chinese notes
Prerequisites: 1. Completion of secondary education (F.5 under HKCEE or F.6 under HKDSE) or above or equivalent (applicants should provide copies of certification) and
2. Ability to read and write in Chinese
Remark: ● Award of Certificate: 100% class attendance, complete class exercise and a pass in end-of-course examination.
● Students who do not have sufficient attendance is not allowed to attend the examination.
● Students who are absent from the class, late or leave earlier for more than 30 minutes in a class will be regarded as absent for that session of the course.
